Work with Us

Final Parsec is a creative workspace for people with stories to tell. It stays with you throughout a session, letting you generate content as ideas come up, keep track of what happens, and gradually build a world that grows with every game.

We built it for tabletop RPG game masters first, but it also works well for solo RPG players, fiction writers, and game developers.

We're a team of two developers, fully bootstrapped and without outside investors. That gives us the freedom to focus on making something people genuinely enjoy using instead of chasing short-term growth.

Part-Time Marketing & Community Lead

Are you interested in spending your week playing, reading, and talking about tabletop games and the stories people build with them, and getting paid for it?

This pays $10–15/hour on a part-time contract, ~10 hrs/week. It's a good way to get paid for something you already enjoy and build a portfolio while you're at it. It's hybrid, too: you need to be local to Fort Worth, TX. We don't have an office, but we want to be able to meet up with you in person from time to time.

Why This Role Exists

We've seen how much content and community can do for us in short bursts. Now we want someone to make it consistent. When no one's job is explicitly content and distribution, that work loses every time to shipping the next feature. This role is meant to bridge that gap.

What You'll Do

This is more a pool of things we need help with than a checklist you're expected to clear alone every week. If you're great at Discord and video and mediocre at everything else, lean into that. We're trying to take some of this off our own plates, not hand you a second full-time job in disguise.

  • Make content that shows the product through real use: blog posts, short videos, curated random tables, "build a world with me" pieces. Think "five random encounter tables for a low-magic hexcrawl" or "how I ran a two-year campaign without losing the thread." Less announcement, more demonstration.
  • Own our presence in the communities that matter. That includes Reddit, our Discord, and other social channels. Give value first, and mention the product only where it belongs.
  • Nurture creator relationships. Set up free-product and affiliate arrangements with TTRPG creators who'd use Final Parsec because it fits their workflow, not because they're paid to.
  • Help move a few sponsorship conversations forward. This is about brand awareness, not performance marketing.
  • Contribute to email marketing and our newsletter.

What This Role Is Not

  • No paid ads. We're investing in owned assets and community trust, not buying reach.
  • Not product work. You're not expected to help build or shape the product itself, though passing along community feedback when you hear it is welcome.
  • Not a growth-hacking, dashboard-worship role. We're not chasing vanity metrics. What matters to us is the quality of what you make and the trust you build with our community over time.

You Might Be a Great Fit If

  • You actually play. TTRPGs, solo RPGs, or you're a worldbuilder or writer. This one matters a lot to us: you should understand our users' experience and pain points.
  • You can write in a voice that's honest and useful, not hype-y. Reddit would upvote you, not report you.
  • You bring your passion to the areas where you can contribute the most, whether that's real conversations on Discord and Reddit or something else entirely. For the recurring stuff, like blog posts and videos, you're comfortable working to a cadence we set together and a checklist to keep it on track.
  • You can turn a product moment, like a saved dice roll or a session log, into a story worth watching or reading.
  • Nice to have: basic comfort shooting or editing simple video, light SEO instincts, or existing standing in a relevant community.

Logistics

  • Hours: ~10/week, flexible and async-friendly.
  • Location: Hybrid. You need to be based in or near Fort Worth, TX. Most of the work is remote and async, but we want to be able to meet up in person from time to time, especially early on while we're getting to know each other.
  • Type: Contract (1099 independent contractor). It's a contract role, but we're looking for an ongoing, long-term relationship rather than a short-term gig. You're responsible for your own taxes and equipment, and you'll need access to a computer to do this work.
  • Comp: $10–15/hour, depending on fit.

How to Apply

Email us at support@finalparsec.com. Include a link to anything that shows your work: a portfolio, writing samples, a resume, whatever fits best. In your note, tell us a little about:

  • What you like to play, write, or create
  • Some relevant experience you have
  • An example of something you're proud of

We're looking to fill this role right away. If it looks like a fit, expect to hear back from us within a few days.

Don't See a Fit?

We're always open to hearing from people who want to work with us in other ways. If you're a TTRPG creator interested in a free-product or affiliate relationship, or you run a con or community and want to talk sponsorship, reach out at support@finalparsec.com. We read everything, even if there isn't an open role right now.
